Perfectly timed to make watching what you want, when you want, easier than ever this Christmas, Panasonic is pleased to announce that its customers will now be able to enjoy Freeview Play on its new PVR and Blu-ray recorders. Customers can now benefit from on demand and all the Freeview channels subscription free with no strings attached on both its 2015 TV range and its PVR and Blu-ray products.

Having been the first TV launch partner for Freeview Play, Panasonic is pleased to be able to offer this service for PVR and Blu-Ray products.

Freeview Play combines catch-up TV and on-demand services from the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 within the TV guide, alongside live television, to make watching what you want, when you want, easier than ever. Viewers will be able to search for programmes via a seven-day scroll back function in the TV guide or access on-demand programming through a dedicated app[1].

From 1st December 2015, owners of internet-connected PVR and Blu-Ray models with ‘Freeview Play inside’ will receive an on-screen alert to download a firmware upgrade. This upgrade will update software, making Freeview Play available from the TV guide as well as the Freeview Play home page.

Freeview Play will be available on Panasonic’s new 2015 line-up of PVR and Blu-ray products; the DMR-BWT850, DMR-PWT655, DMR-PWT550, DMR-HWT250 and DMR-HWT150.The service is already easy to use, but Panasonic has added a Freeview Play button to its remote controls, giving quick, one-touch access for ultimate convenience.

[1]Seven-day scroll-back catch up is for selected channels only.
