Derby based Colt Engineering has been awarded a prestigious maintenance contract following a successful mechanical and electrical (M&E) services installation at the multi-million pound renovation of Sysmex House in Milton Keynes.

The M&E specialist began work at the UK head office for the Japanese firm, Sysmex UK Ltd back in May and installed new energy efficient LED lighting, access control systems, fire alarm systems and VRF heating and cooling systems.

Following the successful project, the Japanese firm has now awarded Wyvern Business Park based, Colt Engineering a five-year maintenance contract to look after the various systems that the firm installed.

Managing director at Colt Engineering, Simon Colton said: “Colt Engineering is delighted to announce a five-year M&E maintenance contract with Sysmex House in Milton Keynes. It has been a rewarding twelve months since we tendered for the project in December 2014 but it has been extremely worthwhile and the end product has been very successful.

“To have been given this additional maintenance contract, it is testament to the high quality of service that we provided throughout the past seven months and we will continue to offer the same level of service throughout the next five years.”

The original project was completed to a high specification and within time constraints and the quality of service from Colt Engineering impressed Sysmex UK Ltd who awarded the M&E contractors with the five-year contract.

Sysmex UK Ltd is a leading distributor and support network for Sysmex automated haematology and coagulation diagnostic analysers, reagents and information systems for laboratories and healthcare facilities within the UK and Ireland.

Simon added: “A year ago I said that we saw this contract as a catalyst in the development of Colt Engineering into becoming an established M&E company and I think over the past twelve months that has been proved. We are ending 2015, with an office move, bigger contracts and higher quality projects.”
