Tanner and Tilley Town Planning Consultants have secured outline planning permission for three houses on the site of a former poultry farm in the middle of Harman’s Cross between Corfe Castle and Swanage in Dorset.
John Montgomery addressed the Planning Board of Purbeck District Council to respond to concerns expressed by a neighbour. He also explained that great care had been taken to protect trees and wildlife, and why the proposals should be regarded as an exception to the Council’s normal policies for affordable housing. After the decision John Montgomery commented, “This is a sensible result and we are pleased for our client.”
The proposals had been the subject of lengthy discussions with the Planning Department on issues such as the effect on trees and wildlife and although the site falls within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Tanner & Tilley Town Planning Consultants convinced the Council that the proposals were entirely acceptable.
The site which is largely overgrown has been in the ownership of the applicants’ family for many years. Christine and Duncan Howarth expressed their delight with the decision. After the planning board they commented “We are very pleased that new family homes will now be built on this beautiful but run-down site. We are grateful to Tanner and Tilley for guiding us through the planning process to achieve this aim.”
