Hideaway jazz club in Streatham is celebrating its third birthday with a huge two day party on Friday 15th & Saturday 16th February.
Basement Jaxx singer Brendan Reilly will be leading the festivities with a live band playing classic funk & soul to get everyone in the party spirit.
Brendan will be supported by an all-star Hideaway house band put together by pianist and musical director Janette Mason, who has performed live with Oasis and Jimmy Somerville; vocalist Annabel Williams, who has performed with Ceelo Green, bassist Simon Little, from The Divine Comedy; guitarist Dave Ital – who has recorded with Taio Cruz and Sugababes; and top drummer Simon Lea.
The restaurant will be offering a delicious selection of appetisers, main courses and desserts before the show. The Hideaway Jazz Café up on the Streatham High Road - opposite Streatham train station - will also be open until 10pm, serving food, wine and coffee delivered to the sound of jazz legends, soul icons and funk favourites to get Hideaway party-goers in the mood for the evening ahead.
Since opening in 2010 the Hideaway venue in Empire Mews, SW16 has been so successful they have had to expand the venue three times. The main live music room was extended, and they have added a live comedy room and Hideaway Jazz Cafe on Streatham High Road.
The live output of the club has also been increased and the SW16 site puts on about 10 live jazz, funk, soul and comedy events a week throughout the year.
The stylish venue on Empire Mews in Streatham was awarded Best Venue at the 2011 Parliamentary Jazz Awards and has already built an amazing reputation on the music scene and has had performances from top musicians like Courtney Pine, Buddy Greco, Omar, Mica Paris, Janet Kay and David McAlmont.
Tickets for Hideaway’s birthday shows are £13. Advance booking is strongly advised, as this event is likely to be a sell-out. Doors open on the night at 7pm and the show starts 9pm.
