Highways Agency: Weekly summary of roadworks for M25

A traffic management summary for both new and ongoing work

The information provided in this report is correct as of the above date but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

M25 Junction 16 to Junction 23
Ongoing work to widen this section of the M25 to four lanes in each direction between junctions 18 and 21a continues this week. Three narrow lanes in each direction will be available during busy times, with off peak lane closures as required, mostly overnight. A 50mph speed restriction is in place between junctions 18 and 21a that operates 24 hours a day. A free recovery service is available.

M25 Junction 27 to Junction 30
Ongoing work to widen M25 to four lanes in each direction between junctions 27 and 30 continues this week. The second phase of the works between junctions 28 and 29 is now in operation, with three narrow lanes in each direction available during busy times, and off peak lane closures as required, mostly overnight.  Currently a 50mph speed limit is in place operating 24 hours a day. A free recovery service is available.

M25 Junction 2
The clockwise link road from the M25 to the A2 eastbound will be closed overnight from 10pm to 5am for 2 nights from Monday 27 September for setting up signs.  A diversion route will be fully signposted.  Moderate delays are expected.

M25 Junction 2
The clockwise carriageway from Junction 2 to 3 will be closed for three nights from 10pm to 5am from Wednesday 29 September for white lining-road markings.  A diversion route will be fully signposted.  Moderate delays are expected.

M25 Junction 3
The clockwise link road from the M25 to the M20 eastbound will be closed overnight from 10pm to 5am for two nights from Monday 27 September for setting up signs A diversion route will be fully signposted.  Moderate delays are expected.

M25 Junction 6
The anti-clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight from 10pm to 5am for four nights from Sunday 26 September (excluding 28 September) for carriageway reconstruction-repair.  A diversion route will be fully signposted.  Moderate delays are expected.

M25 Junction 6
The clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight from 10pm to 5am for four nights from Friday 1 October for carriageway reconstruction repairs.  A diversion route will be fully signposted.  Moderate delays are expected.

M25 Junction 7
The southbound clockwise entry link road from the M23 to the M25 clockwise will be closed overnight from 10pm to 5am on Tuesday 28 September for electrical works.  A diversion route will be fully signposted.  Moderate delays are expected.

M25 Junction 7
The clockwise northbound entry link road from the M23 to the M25 will be closed overnight from 10pm to 5am on Tuesday 28 September for electrical works.  A diversion route will be fully signposted.  Moderate delays are expected.

M23 Junction 16 
The clockwise link road from the M40 eastbound to the M25 will be closed overnight for two nights from 10pm to 5am from Friday 24 September for construction improvement-upgrading. A diversion route will be fully signposted.  Moderate delays are expected.

M25 Junction 24
The clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight from 10pm to 5am on Thursday 30 September for electrical works.  A diversion route will be fully signposted.  Moderate delays are expected.

M25 Junction 28
The clockwise exit slip road and anticlockwise entry slip road will be closed for four nights from 10pm to 5.30am from Tuesday 28 September for communication works.  A diversion route will be fully signposted.  Moderate delays are expected.

M25 Junction 28
The clockwise entry slip road and anticlockwise exit slip road will be closed from 10pm to 5.30am for four nights from Thursday 23 September (excluding 25 September) for communication works.  The closure will start at 11pm on Fridays and 11.30pm on Saturdays. A diversion route will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected.

M25 Junction 30
The clockwise exit slip road will be closed overnight from 10pm to 5am for three nights from Tuesday 28 September for carriageway-reconstruction repair.   A diversion route will be fully signposted.  Moderate delays are expected.

M25 Junction 30
The clockwise carriageway from Junction 30 to 31 will be closed for eight nights from 10pm to 5am from Friday 1 October (excluding weekends) for carriageway reconstruction repair.  A diversion route will be fully signposted.  Moderate delays are expected.

M25 Junction 31
The clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight, from 10pm to 5.00am from Thursday 23 September for four nights (except for the weekend) for carriageway reconstruction-repair.  A diversion route will be fully signposted.  Moderate delays are expected.

M4 Junction 1 to 3
The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight from 10pm to 5am for four nights from Monday 27 September for structure maintenance.  A diversion route will be fully signposted.  Moderate delays are expected.

A282 Dartford – Thurrock Crossing

The northbound slip road will be closed overnight from 10pm to 5am from Thursday 30 September for two nights for carriageway reconstruction-repair work. A diversion route will be fully signposted.  Moderate delays are expected.

A3 Esher 
The northbound Esher entry slip road will be closed overnight from 10pm to 5am for seven nights from Friday 24 September for carriageway construction-repair work. A diversion route will be fully signposted.  Moderate delays are expected.

A1 (M) Hatfield Tunnel
Phase 3 continues and is due for completion in spring 2011. During this phase, the southbound tunnel will be closed. There will be a two lane contraflow, narrow lanes and a 40mph speed limit 24 hours a day in the northbound tunnel . Drivers should expect moderate delays during these works . A free recovery service will be in place.
