HTC Incredible S is a Feature Filled Mid-Range Android

Press release   •   Jun 02, 2011 08:37 BST

The recent developments in the mobile phone industry have made a huge difference in the availability of phones having 4 inch displays. Many manufacturers see this as the perfect display size for managing between portability and larger screen size. It has led to the increase in the number of phones featuring this size of screens, which was clearly being lacked by the HTC phones. So, the company has decided to launch the new HTC Incredible S, which will be filling this gap more than anything else. It promises to be extremely good in this regard since the phone manages to combine the brilliance of both the HTC Desire and the Desire HD.

It comes with a 4 inch display that is certainly has a no-nonsense approach towards it, with the display playing it safe in terms of the technologies. It has the LCD technology and that is just about it, but the phone manages to be ahead of the competition in terms of the clarity and detail provided by the display. Also, the resolution of the screen is on par with the competition at 480 by 800 pixels, which is going to make the images look extremely good. Other options that are associated with the display of the HTC Incredible S include the gorilla glass display and the HTC Sense user interface. The touch sensitive controls are being employed by the phone and they are offered with rotating icons as well.

Offering the same amount of RAM is another aspect of the HTC Incredible S that makes it look very similar to the HTC Desire HD. It is 768 MB to be precise and it is the same level of RAM being offered in the flagship model. However, the absence of the dual core processor is a slight disappointment, but in order to compensate for this disappointment HTC is offering the 1 GHz processor in the phone. It goes some way to satisfying the disappointment created due to the lack of the dual core unit. However, one using the phone quite a bit, your eyes will be opened to the HTC brains that has obviously decided that this processor will be enough for running the Android OS in the phone. It seems to be the exact decisions since there is no difference between the single core processor and the dual core unit when it comes to running the Android 2.2 operating system.

The OS, however, is upgradable to the 2.4 version that has been rumoured heavily ever since the launch of the 2.3 version of the operating system. There have been some rumours regarding the stability in the 2.3 version, which has obviously led Android into making changes on the 2.3 version. The 2.4 version of the Android operating system is expected to be released sooner rather than later and the HTC Incredible S will be one of the first devices to sport this new operating system. The HTC Incredible S is available for £ 23 per month on the T-Mobile contract.
