WHERE: At the Motörhead Löunge, in the VIP area at Metaltown
WHO: Meet and greet with Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee
WHEN: Thursday July 4th at 5pm
MOTÖRHEAD, the hardest working, hardest touring band in the world has one of the biggest years yet in 2013. The Grammy-award winners have been in the recording studio working on their next
album – Aftershock due to be released in October 2013.
It will be the follow-up to the highly successful CD, The Wörld Is Yours, the blistering, multi-formated
(DVD, CD, Vinyl, Blu-Ray) The Wörld Is Ours-Volume 1 - Everywhere Further Than Everyplace Else, and The Wörld Is Ours - Volume 2 - Anyplace Crazy As Anywhere Else.
Written and performed by Lemmy Kilmister, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee, the new record is being made with longtime producer Cameron Webb, who also worked on The Wörld Is Yours, Motörizer, Kiss Of Death and Inferno. The new album continues a worldwide addiction to the Motörhead sound and lifestyle which saw their last several releases break, both the band's own sales records and the Billboard Top 100 chart.
Motörhead officially launched Motörheadphönes at the Consumer Electronics Shows in Las Vegas in January after the successful launch in Berlin, London and Paris in fall 2012. As the ‘loudest band in the world’ it's fitting that they would go in this direction. The new brand, Motörheadphönes were developed by the band and targeted to the rock audience, one of the largest audiences of music listeners.
‘These new headphones are not like the weak-kneed, lily-livered, tin-pot, skinny sounding little pieces of garbage out on the market today,’ says Lemmy, ‘We designed these headphones to deliver everything louder than anything else, and with the sort of range, clarity and TRUE rock reproduction you'd expect from a band of warriors like us.’
Are you thirsty? ‘We have a range of intoxicants now,’ Lemmy says. We recently told you about the Motörhead Wine, Beer and Vodka which is a premium, 80 proofs Vodka made from 100% locally
grown wheat that has been distilled and bottled in Sweden. It has a rich, full-bodied and complex character, with a light and fruity aftertaste.’ That’s how women sometimes describe Lemmy’, as a reviewer says.
Being the true road warriors they are, Motörhead are off on their worldwide live assault as we
write. This tour will culminate with the huge Wacken Festival in Germany in August to a sold-out crowd of 80,000.
All in all, the lifestyle that is Motörhead, is one of the world's greatest Rock'n'roll acts, who will
have a brand new rebel-rousing statement with their new record later this year. An absolute storm in this is their 37th year as the greatest, loudest, coolest and most iconic band ever.
