Well the rumor is out and according to it, Apple is planning to replace its 30-Pin dock connector to a 19-Pin dock connector when it launches the new iPhone soon. The rumor is according to two unnamed sources who spoke with Reuters. They also claim the reason for the change is for Apple to make room for the earphone moving to the bottom.
The said rumors about Apple plans may have to replace existing dock connector which has been a big part of all Apple’s products since 2003. With the European regulations which requires mobile phones to standardize a micro-USB connector (which Apple committed to back in 2009), some believes that Apple might take the plunge and switch altogether to micro-USB for their next iPhone. But then again, a lot of people are still thinking that Apple will just release an updated version of its current micro-USB adapter just so they can comply with the European Standards.
If this rumor is indeed true, what will happen to older iPhones in the likes of iPhone 4S and iPhone 4?
