Man dies after being assaulted in a Southampton pub

Detectives from our Major Crime team are investigating after a man died today, Sunday, April 21, following an attack in a Southampton pub.

Perry Cardy was assaulted in the Bittern pub, Southampton, at around 9.50pm, Friday April 19.

The 52-year-old from Thornhill Park Road, the same road where the pub is located, was taken to Southampton General Hospital suffering from serious head injuries and sadly died this morning.

Two men, aged 27 and 39, have been arrested in connection with the incident.

We're now appealing for anyone who saw the incident who hasn't yet spoken to police or has any information about what happened to call 101 quoting Operation Bonham.

We'd also like to hear from anyone who has footage from their mobile phones of the assault.

Detective Inspector Lee Macarthur from the Major Crime team said: "We want to hear from you if you were in the Bittern Public House, Thornhill, Southampton on the evening of Friday, April 19?

"You can either call us on 101 or use the link below to directly submit information to the investigation team.

"Any information you have may be relevant, no matter how insignificant it may appear to be. If you have any video footage or pictures then please upload them using the link".
