Ministry of Justice - Judicial Appointments: Appointment of a Designated Immigration Judge

The Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Jack Straw MP, has appointed Immigration Judge Julian Francis Walsingham Phillips as a Designated Immigration Judge of the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal, based in Newport, with effect from 7 December 2009.

Notes for the Editor

Julian Francis Walsingham Phillips (55) was admitted as a Solicitor in 1980. He was appointed as a Fee-paid Immigration Adjudicator in 1999, as a Full Time Immigration Adjudicator in 2002 and became an Immigration Judge with the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal in April 2005.
