Ministry of Justice - Judicial Appointments: Circuit Bench Retirements - Slinger and Hammond

His Honour Judge Edward Slinger retired as a Circuit Judge on 2 February 2010 and His Honour Judge James Anthony Hammond retired as a Circuit Judge on 6 February 2010.

His Honour Judge Thomas Edward Slinger (72) was admitted as a Solicitor in 1961. He was appointed as a Deputy Registrar in 1979, as an Assistant Recorder in 1988, as a Recorder in 1992 and as a Circuit Judge in 1995. He also served on the Special Immigration Appeals Commission between 1997 and 2005 and on the Immigration Appeals Tribunal between 2002 and 2005.

His Honour Judge James Anthony Hammond (73) was called to the Bar (L) in 1959. He was appointed as a Recorder in 1980 and as a Circuit Judge in 1986.
