Mitie, the facilities management company, is today announcing it has become an official Team Supplier to Red Bull Racing, marking the start of a long-term relationship to provide advanced building telemetry at the team’s Milton Keynes factory.
Mitie is collecting and analysing live environmental data from the factory buildings using custom-built sensor technology, just as Red Bull Racing gathers data from sensors all over its cars during a race.
Monitored variables such as air quality, light levels and humidity can affect both physical manufacturing processes and human performance. Collecting this rich data gives a better understanding of the working environments within the factory, allowing Mitie to optimise them for enhanced performance.
Stephen Foxley, Managing Director (London & South) of Mitie’s Technical Facilities Management business, said: “Red Bull shares our drive for innovation and continuous improvement, and this partnership will underline the positive correlation between what happens in the factory and what happens on the track.
“We are excited to be launching a new intelligent buildings solution which uses advanced building telemetry to improve occupants’ comfort, reduce energy use and maximise the effectiveness of the building’s assets.”
Al Peasland, Head of Technical Partnerships at Red Bull Racing, said: “Competing in races is not just about performance on the track; it’s about leveraging the whole team in the preparation for each race, and making sure they have a healthy and comfortable environment in which they can produce their best work.”
“Across all areas of our facility, our relationship with Mitie will help us to measure and analyse our working environments and ensure that our team members have the optimum working conditions.”
