The Sunday Times Tech Track 100 award for Best Management Team was won by at the esteemed awards dinner held in London last night (15 November). Steve Oliver and Walter Gleeson, founders of musicMagpie, the leading cash for CDs, DVDs and Games website, were at the event to collect the award on behalf of the team, which includes Eren Ozagir (CMO), Jon Eeles (CFO) and top business leader Allan Leighton (Non-Exec Chairman).

The Tech Track 100 Awards celebrates the people behind Britain’s 100 fastest-growing privately-owned technology companies. The event followed the publication of the the prestigious Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 on 18 September in which musicMagpie was listed as the third fastest growing private technology company in the UK.

Founded in 2007, musicMagpie is Europe’s largest purchaser and multi-channel retailer of replay CDs, DVDs and Games, serving over nine million customers worldwide. The company has shaped the pre-played market globally by legitimising the products and the pre-played category itself. In April this year, Allan Leighton, former boss of ASDA and Royal Mail, and current non-executive director at BSkyB, joined the board as chairman. The company has continued its aggressive growth by ensuring that technological innovations are at the very core of the business and is set to deliver sales of £100m per annum in 2012/13.
