NCC leases premises at Torsplan to Max hamburger chain

Press Release   •   Aug 20, 2012 08:30 BST

NCC Property Development has signed a lease with the Max hamburger chain concerning premises in the new Torsplan office and retail property that NCC is constructing in the Hagastaden district of Stockholm. Max wants environmentally certified premises and the Torsplan property will be environmentally classified according to the BREEAM method.

Torsplan is scheduled for completion in 2013/2014 and will be the first commercial property in Stockholm’s new Hagastaden district. The twelve-story property, of which two stories are underground, will comprise 22,000 square meters of office space and 8,000 square meters of retail and service space. Max will lease 428 square meters.

“We are proud that Max, with its strong environmental profile, has selected Torsplan for its establishment. The operation will provide an excellent complement to the property’s service offerings for everyone who lives and works in the Hagastaden district. We have now leased 80 percent of the retail space and have noted great interest in the two remaining stores, as well as the remaining office space. The other tenants are Coffeehouse by George, PrisXtra, Systembolaget, the DocMorris pharmacy chain and an Asian restaurant,” says Fredrik Hemborg, Regional Manager at NCC Property Development.

“We are working continuously to reduce our climate impact. We do this by offering eco-labeled food and we offset 100 percent of our carbon emissions by planting trees in Africa. In 2010, we also began constructing or selecting environmentally certified restaurants for many of our new establishments. NCC’s Torsplan property is totally in line with our environmental objectives,” says Richard Bergfors, CEO of Max.

The property will be constructed with high ambitions to minimize its environmental impact and will be environmentally classified as a Green Building and assessed as Excellent according to the internationalBREEAM environmental assessment method.
