NCC Property Development is leasing approximately 3,000 square meters of office space in the new office property Koggen 2 at Västra Hamnen in Malmö. Beijer Electronics is to relocate its head office to the property, where it will be the fourth company to focus on flexible offices with a strong environmental profile.
“Beijer Electronics is the fourth tenant to sign a lease for Koggen 2 and negotiations are under way with more prospective tenants. Activity in the leasing market is high and the trend of moving away from older premises into functional, modern offices with a high environmental profile is continuing,” says Per Bojfelt, account manager for leasing at NCC Property Development.
The flexibility offered by Koggen 2 is found in the open, adaptable floor plans, which facilitate communication both internally and externally. By selecting modern, flexible and centrally located offices, Beijer Electronics’ relocation represents a strategic decision for the future.
“We have been looking for flexible premises that are easy to adapt to the way our company develops over time. Since we also want our company to contribute to a sustainable environment, Koggen 2 will be ideal for us. At the same time, the new offices will match our profile as an international, high-tech company,” says Tim Webster, Vice President HR at Beijer Electronics.
The company is to lease a total of 2,694 square meters of office space and will move into the fifth and sixth stories, as well as into the ground floor, which will be fitted out as educational premises for the company’s customers. Beijer Electronics is a leading supplier of industrial automation and data communication solutions.
The three tenants that have already signed leases for Koggen 2 are EFG (office furniture), Diversify Öresund (IT consultancy) and Bravura Sverige (staffing company).
Of the total of 7,000 square meters of floor space, 4,300 square meters now remain to be leased. Koggen 2 will be ready for occupancy during autumn 2012. In connection with completion of the property, the property company Vasakronan, which has previously acquired Koggen 2, will formally take over as the owner.
Construction of the building reflects high ambitions in terms of minimizing the environmental impact and Koggen 2 will be certified as a GreenBuilding and be environmentally classified at the BREEAMlevel of Very Good.
