NCC leases premises to clothing chain Lager 157 at Tornby 7/5/2012

Press Release   •   Jul 05, 2012 10:52 BST

NCC Property Development has signed a lease with clothing chain Lager 157 at the Tornby Handelsgårdar shopping complex, Linköping, where the clothing store is to lease 2,300 square meters. The first phase is thus fully leased and the stores will open in autumn. It has also been decided that a bus service will stop at Tornby Handelsgårdar.

The first phase of Tornby Handelsgårdar is scheduled for completion sometime in October 2012, at which time Lager 157, together with XXL Sport och Vildmark and the home electronics chain, Elgiganten, will open. The D.I.Y chain Bauhaus will also open its own superstore at the shopping complex.

“The first phase of 11,200 square meters has been leased and the property has been sold, so we are now negotiating with several other prospective tenants for the second phase,” says Manne Aronsson, Property Developer for NCC Property Development.

Lager 157 sells well-known brands at low prices. The chain was founded in 1999 and now has around ten stores in Sweden.

“The elegant design of both Tornby Handelsområde and the property itself suits Lager 157’s concept. It fits in well with our view of modern retailing,” says Jonas Ivarsson, marketing manager at Lager 157.

Clearly visible entrances and improved public transport facilities will make shopping at Tornby Handelsgårdar more accessible. There will be ample parking and an excellent bus service.

“We are pleased to have achieved to have a bus stop in the area, which is an important service for our own customers, and also for the several hundred people who work at Tornby. Being able to reach Tornby by public transport is fundamental to the sustainability practices that NCC prioritizes,” says Manne Aronsson, NCC Property Development.

The construction of Tornby Handelsgårdar has been ambitiously designed with the aim of minimizing the environmental impact. The area will have a BREEAM environmental rating of “Very Good”.
