NCC has been commissioned by the Norwegian Roads Administration to construct a new section of the E18 Expressway between the municipalities of Hobøl and Ski, slightly more than 30 kilometers south of Oslo. The contract encompasses 6.25 kilometers of highway and is worth SEK 885 million.
“This is an interesting project for NCC, in which we will utilize strategic competencies from both Norway and Sweden,” says Håkon Tjomsland, Business Area Manager of NCC Construction Norway.
The project includes a four-lane highway, 10 bridges, concrete structures along the highway section, reinforcement of County Road 120 and various improvements of roads and water and sewage systems in the Municipality of Hobøl.
As a result of this agreement, NCC has three projects in progress on the E18 Expressway simultaneously and thus strengthens its position in large-scale infrastructure projects around the Oslo fjord.
NCC endeavors to develop sustainable solutions and the aim of the project will be to have the least possible environmental impact. The contract will be implemented in accordance with NCC’s proprietary “Green Construction” concept.
The project is scheduled to be completed during September 2016. The order will be registered in the first quarter of 2014 and will be divided equally between NCC Construction Norway and CC Construction Sweden.
