Continuing with the company’s growth strategy, Diana Hird has been appointed as a Legal Consultant to the firm who are now recognised as one of the UK’s leading surveying firms.
Diana brings with her over 20 years of experience of construction law gained both in private practice as Partner with Berrymans Lace Mawer and as Legal Counsel (Europe) for Gensler, a global firm of architects and designers.
She handles both contentious and non-contentious work. She is experienced in all forms of dispute resolution and advises on standard forms of appointment such as RIBA, FIDIC and JCT.
Her extensive project experience stretches right across from Europe and The Middle East to China and Japan. She has advised on major infrastructure and commercial construction projects including an off shore financial centre in the Iranian Gulf, the design of a 1,000,000 square foot mixed use development in Kuwait, the design of retail shopping malls in Kuwait, Dubai and Russia, the master plan of development sites in Russia (St Petersburg) and Jordan, the design and construction of 5 star hotels in Dubai and on The Palm Island – the list is endless….
She previously sat on the committee of a Housing Association and is co-author of "Avoiding Construction Disputes" published by Chandos. Diana is an active member of The Arbitration Club, TeCSA and SCL as well being an accomplished seminar speaker on topics such as contract, negotiation, dispute avoidance, dispute resolution and risk management.
