Mr Townsend, who has been a senior executive at Norland since 2008 and a member of BIFM for 7 years, will serve a two year tenure as the BIFM Home counties chair.
He is currently a business unit director at Norland Managed Services with responsibility for clients based in the South of England with integrated FM and managed service requirements. Having spent 30 years in the construction, M&E and facilities industry in both civilian and military environments.
Mr Townsend said: “It is my firm belief that the BIFM supports the image of modern facilities as a professional career of choice. My experience, knowledge and dedication to supporting the BIFM as a professional institute will focus on how we recruit, how we retain by education and development at all levels of the FM profession and how we continue to grow the Membership”.
