Press Release   •   Feb 11, 2013 08:00 GMT

Panasonic today launches eight new FULL HD 3D Blu-ray Disc™ home cinema systems - the SC-BTT880; SC-BTT560; SC-BTT500; SC-BTT460; SC-BTT400; SC-BTT230; SC-BTT200 and SC-BTT100. The range boasts 2-way speaker technology for extremely clear, cinema-like surround sound to complement their outstanding 3D picture quality. VIERA Connect, Panasonic’s cloud-based connected TV platform is available for all models, in addition to a wide range of smart features such as built-in Wi-Fi or Wireless LAN capability, Smartphone Remote Control, DLNA capability and Digital Music Connection for iPod /iPhone.

Elegant and stylish design to match your VIERA TV

The SC-BTT880 and SC-BTT560 both have an attractive silver hair-line finish which creates an aesthetically pleasing presence next to any VIERA LCD television. With their stable V-shaped stands and prismatic cut forms the home cinema systems complement the space around them.

Furthermore, this year’s models include a ‘Pronounced Speaker’ design bringing elegance and a futuristic form to high-quality speakers that are capable of extremely rich sound expression, all the way from delicate to impressively powerful tones.

Clear, cinema-like surround sound

The whole range is equipped with Cinema Surround Technology, a state-of-the-art Panasonic technology that produces superb cinema-like surround sound, as a standard feature.  All 5.1 channel models also feature 3D Cinema Surround, where Panasonic’s proprietary direction perception control technology makes noises and effects appear to come from all directions, creating an immersive 3D experience.

The new LincsD-amp that features in all the models, based on the Mash noise-shaping technology used for many years in Panasonic products, reduces jitter and distortion that can affect audio clarity to produce pure, brilliant sound.

The systems also feature Digital Music Connection for iPod /iPhone[1], minimising sound degradation and allowing you to enjoy your favourite songs as they were intended to be heard.

Smart functionality

The 2013 range of FULL HD 3D Blu-ray Disc™ home cinema systems are also equipped with a wide range of smart and intuitive features. VIERA Connect[2], Panasonic’s connected TV platform, provides easy access to a huge variety of content and services, from news and video-on-demand movies, to entertainment and communication. It also connects to Twitter, Facebook, You Tube and Skype[3] so you can share your home entertainment experiences with friends and family.

The new home cinema systems are also compatible with Smartphone Remote Control[4] for simple, intuitive operation. This enables you to easily operate the home cinema system by tapping and swiping your smartphone or tablet. You can input characters with the key pad on your mobile device and set up your favourite sound effects as well as search for additional entertainment and movie information.

Further connectivity options include the DLNA function which makes it easier to share and enjoy digital photos, music, and videos with home networking. You can access, browse and view media stored on a server while in another room without having to worry about shuffling discs. The smart networking features can also be enjoyed without having a LAN cable connection. A Wi-Fi system[5] is built right into the main unit on the SC-BTT880, SC-BTT560, SC-BTT500, SC-BTT230 and SC-BTT200, so you can enjoy VIERA Connect and BD-Live content without having to connect the home cinema system with a LAN cable.

The SC-BTT880, SC-BTT560, SC-BTT500, SC-BTT230 and SC-BTT200 are also equipped with two HDMI inputs in addition to one HDMI output for a gaming console and set-top box connections. Since the HDMI inputs feature a Standby Pass Through function, signals from the connected devices can pass through the unit even when the home cinema system is turned off.
