Panasonic is to exhibit at The Photography Show at the NEC in Birmingham, with an Olympic themed stand to promote its long running sponsorship of the Olympic Games and partnership with the British Olympic Association. Running from the 19th – 22nd March 2016, visitors will have the chance to see Panasonic’s wide range of LUMIX G, LUMIX and HD Camcorders on Stand D41.
There will be a record number of LUMIX G Professional Photographers speaking at the show and visitors will have the chance to meet and chat with them on the stand including; Phil Gould, Jonas Borg, Casey Gutteridge, Nick Driftwood, Jacob James, Gagan Sadana, Ian Cook, Emma Drabble, Esther Ling, Ross Grieve, and Steven Clarey1.
Athletes from a range of sporting backgrounds including Basketball, Gymnastics and BMX will perform hourly in the specially designed Sports Arena within the Panasonic stand, with live commentary from LUMIX G Pro Photographers. Visitors will have the chance to get hands on with Panasonic’s growing range of 4K imaging and video products by taking their own 4K Photos on the stand.
Newly announced LUMIX cameras will be available to see at the show, including the ultimate travel companion the LUMIX TZ100 featuring 4K Photo and Post Focus, and the award winning LUMIX TZ80 with 30x optical zoom and the ability to capture stunning 4K images and video. Panasonic will be offering in-depth product demonstrations of all its LUMIX G and LUMIX products including the new Telephoto Leica DG 100-400mm lens, announced earlier this year.
The recently launched range of Panasonic 4K camcorders will also be on the stand, including the HC-VXF990 which boasts 4K recording, a 20x zoom lens and Wireless Multi Camera, allowing you to link up to three models together to capture the action from every angle, as well as the HC-VX980 which claims HDR movie capability, 4K video cropping and Movie Modes to inspire amateur videographers and movie-makers alike.
Panasonic has teamed up with Camera World and London Camera Exchange to give visitors the chance to secure exclusive show offers on the LUMIX G, LUMIX and Camcorder range (available from their stands at D21 and E51 respectively).
There will also be a host of Guest Speakers on the main stage who will be speaking from their own experiences as commercial photographers and LUMIX G Pro Photographers. Details below;
Overcoming your fears; Shooting Street & Portraiture around the World (Saturday 19th March)
Jacob James, who specialises in cultural and humanitarian photography, discusses what it takes to lose the fear for street photography and how to capture the human side of life across various cultures. He’ll explore amazing imagery captured on his travels around the world, so far and how they were made.
4K Video – What Storytelling do Moving Pictures Tell? (Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th)Be one of the first to sample Nick Driftwoods new film, ‘Swim to Land’ which was shot entirely in 4K. Find out what 4K is, what it means for filmmakers or photographers wanting to take up filmography and what differences in composition and storytelling do moving pictures tell.
The Key to Great Images on the Road (Sunday 20th March)
From his experience travelling the world as a photographer, Ambassador Jonas Borg will be offering advice on how to get really good travel photographs using small, light camera gear. Having previously been commissioned to work with the Swedish Royal Family, the session will cover the successes and failures of being a professional photographer with tips on taking the next steps to becoming a pro.
Candid Street Photography (Monday 21st March)
Learn how to develop your own street photography style whilst going beyond the definitions and rules of traditional photography. Find out how Gagan Sadana captures candid, un-posed shots whilst out on the streets in the UK and how you can look for stories and interesting moments in even the bleakest of environments.
The Passion, The Photograph, The Moment (Tuesday 22nd March)
What makes a photograph more than just an image? Commercial photographer Emma Drabble explores how we can hone our own skills to get the best from every picture, whilst looking through her own portfolio of commercial and documentary work.
Sports Photographer in the Modern Era (Tuesday 22nd March)
Find out what a day in the life of a sports photographer can be from Ian Cook, an international professional sports photographer who covered both the London 2012 Olympic Games and 2014 Commonwealth Games. With a look at how 4K Photo can be used to get the best moments, how important it is to get images to news desks as quick as possible and how using a Lumix G has helped him capture the most important sporting moments of the past few years.
