Phones 4u Selects Infogain to Partner in Ambitious Store Expansion of its Oracle Investment

GITEX - Dubai, 18 October 2010 – Infogain, a global retail and mobile solutions provider, today announces that leading high street mobile phone retailer for the youth market, Phones 4u, has chosen it to implement Oracle Retail applications to support its partnership with a major UK electronics retailer to roll-out at least 50 new ‘stores-in-stores’ before the end of the year, with further roll-out planned for 2011.

“This is a pivotal phase in Phones 4u’s expansion plans, which means a solid technology platform and retail partner are absolute imperatives,” said Steve Taylor, IT Director at Phones 4u.

To a backdrop of consistent retail success, Infogain recently unveiled its Mobile Point of Sale solution (Mobile POS), developed exclusively for Oracle Retail.  Leveraging the flexibility of Oracle Retail Point-of-Service and the power of the iPod touch platform, the solution enables sales assistants to handle customer purchases from any location in the store.  Mobile POS supports a variety of sales floor functionality, including product / inventory look-up, customer data acquisition and line busting.  It also facilitates remote printing and can be used with Apple-based terminals.
