A drumkit belonging to Steve Hewitt (ex drummer of Placebo) is to be sold as part of a Music Memorabilia Auction on 8th September. Placebo, an English alternative rock band from London formed in 1994 and have have released six studio albums, all of which have reached the top 20 in the UK and have sold over ten million records worldwide. Hewitt, originally of Northwich, Cheshire was a member of the band from 1996 - 2007 and is now lead singer and guitarist in Love Amongst Ruin. The Yahama Maple Custom drum kit in black, was used by Hewitt in the recording of their Sleeping With Ghosts album and on their 18 month world tour for the same album. It also appears in the video for the single 'The Bitter End'. Auctioneer, Paul Fairweather, says "This is a great peice of kit and we would expect it to achieve over £4,000". The sale takes place at Stockport based Omega Auctions on 8th September and with live streaming of the auction over the internet, bidding is also possible online. This is part of a large collection of music memorabilia which also features a collection relating to Elvis Presley, including a Bible containing his handwriting expected to sell for over £20,000.
