Police Cadets behind bars!

Press release   •   Apr 29, 2019 11:32 BST

Earlier this month, 28 Police Cadets from the Basingstoke, Andover and Winchester Units took part in a custody challenge.

The eight hour experience was designed to raise money for local Cadet Units to help fund activities and equipment but also to let the Cadets find out first-hand what it’s really like to be processed through custody. This included having their mobile phones taken away for eight hours!

Ten staff supervised the day at Fareham Police Station. All 28 cadets were booked in, placed in cells, interviewed and booked out during the day. All were asked questions regarding a scenario they were given. They were given the option of having a solicitor with them, who of course advised them appropriately.

So far an amazing £1,324 has been raised that will be split between the units.
