Precisely What You Can Do Throughout Belfast During 2011

Press Release   •   Feb 22, 2011 01:17 GMT

It turns out that 2011 is an excellent year to plan a fantastic trip to Belfast. Even on a tranquil holiday, you will find yourself busy because there are tons of fun things to do. You will just need to compile a list so that you can come back again next year to do it all. Until then, get ready to be thrilled and blown away as you enjoy this beautiful European city that boasts tons of festivals, exhibitions, sporting events, live entertainment shows and much more.

Traditional Celtic Music

Do you enjoy traditional Irish Music? Then you will thoroughly enjoy the Traditional Irish Music Sessions that are held each Sunday until Summer in Belfast. You can visit and listen to folk singers, guitarists, drummers, and fiddlers, all for free.

One of the groups acclaimed by Irish Music Magazine, Pure Blarney, is a regular feature there.

Sport

If you like sports and competing, you will love to see an Ice Hockey game or maybe you can visit the 2011 Indoor Athletic Championships. This event, held in the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, includes top skill athletes who will all vie for the top prize at this yearly indoor athletic Irish event.

Theatre and Shows

If you like musical and live action theatre, don't skip Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs or A Night with George, just two shows currently being seen in Belfast. With Snow White, you get to watch pantomime legend May McFettridge make her Northern Ireland Pantomime debut as the role of the Wicked Queen.

A Night with George is full of gut-splitting comedy as Bridie Murphy finally has the chance to experience what spending a night with George Clooney would be like. This outlandish production shouldn't be skipped, but you'd better be quick since it ends on February 5, 2011.

Kid's Activities

There is fun for the whole family when you make a trip to Belfast. You can take your little ones to the Readings for Children at the Linenhall Library. This is for any children aged 4 to 7 where they will be read a story by the Linen Hall Staff.

Another idea is going to the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum so the family can have a great time together as detectives for the Track It Down activity, searching for clues in order to learn more about the exhibits in the museum; it's a lot of fun for everyone!

These are just some of the festivals, shows and activities that are sure to have you busy while on holiday in your chosen Belfast hotel. Don't worry about fitting it all in since you can always return again and again to get your fill of this beautiful and culturally rich European city.
