Rail Baltica, the largest infrastructure project to be undertaken in the Baltic region in the past 100 years, will enjoy one-to-one consultations with expert solution providers at the 9th International Railway Summit. The summit, a unique 3-day networking event for the global rail family, will take place from 19-21 February 2020 in Warsaw, Poland.
Rail Baltica is an 870km rail transport infrastructure project that aims to integrate the Baltic States of Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia within the larger European rail system. When completed it will provide missing passenger and freight links along the EU’s TEN-T North Sea -Baltic Core Network Corridor. The new network will reach Poland and Finland, with high-speed connections (249 km/h for passenger services and 120 km/h for freight)made between Helsinki, Tallinn, Pärnu, Riga, Panevežys, Kaunas, Vilnius, and Warsaw.
The Rail Baltica network will feature 3 multimodal terminals, one in each of Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia, and at least 7 passenger rail stations, all connected to major airports, and the seaports of Helsinki, Tallinn and Riga.
The project, which is currently under construction, is being implemented by the governments of the three Baltic states, and is co-financed by the European Union. RB Rail AS was established as a joint venture in 2014 as the main coordinator for the project, charged with its development and completion.
Kaspars Briškens, Head of Business Developmentat RB Rail, will represent the Rail Baltica project at the 9th International Railway Summit in Warsaw. Mr Briškens will receive bespoke one-to-one consultations from expert solution providers from across the world. He will also take part in the event’s 2-day conference programme, debating how digital technologies can enable continental and global standardisation.
Organisations interested in learning more about International Railway Summit and about how they can participate in the event can visit http://www.irits.org or contact the organisers, IRITS Events.
International Railway Summit is a meeting of senior executives representing the world’s key rail operators, rail infrastructure management companies, national and local governments, rolling stock manufacturers and a wide range of solution providers.
International Railway Summit provides a 'matchmaking' service between rail industry leaders ('buyers') and technical experts, based on buyer delegates' project requirements and the proven expertise of large and small suppliers that we have carefully handpicked. Based on this matchmaking, buyer delegates attend one-to-one consultation sessions with suitable suppliers during the annual summit.
In addition to the one-to-one meetings, delegates also attend a conference programme given by key industry leaders and experts and network over lunches and dinners with their counterparts and industry colleagues from all over the world. International Railway Summit is hosted by IRITS Events. The 9th International Railway Summit will take place from 19-21 February 2020 in Warsaw, the first time the event will be hosted in Poland.
