Samsung launched its Galaxy S3 phone last year which became one of the popular phones of time and suffered rivalry from only Apple’s iPhone. This smartphone played a big role in unseating the dominance that was being enjoyed by Apple in the mobile industry. After seeing the great success made by this phone all eyes were set to see what will be next brought by Samsung from its Galaxy line up.
After waiting for months, finally android fans received a new handset for Samsung’s Galaxy series, the Galaxy S4 phone. This long anticipated handset was finally released to the global markets in April end. From the day S4 has been released it has been able to generate huge revenues for the mobile vendor. Recent reports show that it has become one of the best selling phones of the company with a sales record of about 10 million units. According to the estimates this smartphone may see 80 million unit sales in future.
Samsung Galaxy S4 is almost similar in looks to the Galaxy S3 phone and you can differentiate them at first appearance only by their size. Both these handsets sport a glass front, a slippery speaker grille, Samsung logo and a wide home button. The Galaxy S4 has slightly more angular corners and the bezel is quite slim which means the screen size has increased. It has almost same dimensions as are resting with Galaxy S3 while S4 undercuts S3’s 8.6 mm thickness.
Those who are used to Apple’s iPhone 5 handset or smaller android phones will be required to stretch hard for moving on to the Samsung’s flagship. Recently it has been reported from Carphone Warehouse, that the maximum number of users who are purchasing Galaxy S4 are those switching from iPhone handsets. They reported that about 30 per cent of the iPhone users are now switching to the android platform with S4 after its release in UK markets. Thus Galaxy S4 is converting iPhone users left, right and center as per the recent claims.
The Galaxy S4 handset is powered with a 1.9 GHz quad core processor with Qualcomm Snapdragon chip and Adreno 320 graphics. There is a storage capacity of 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. The 16 GB variant of this smartphone suffered from the storage issue. It was able to provide the users with only half storage than was promised. The issue was due to the unnecessary and unwanted bloatware which has been built-in to the phone.
