Sutton, UK. Young entrepreneur and acclaimed digital marketing expert Steve Pailthorpe, 26 from Cheam, Surrey has today been appointed as the official digital partner of Sutton United football club through his digital marketing agency Iconic Digital. Sutton United has been looking for a digital partner for the last 6 months and came across the local lad through the Sutton Chamber of Commerce.
“The Club is delighted to appoint Iconic Digital as its new digital partner and I’m thrilled that Steve is able to join us to help develop the Community Business Network that has grown in popularity over the last year,” said Bruce Elliott, Chairman of Sutton United.
The Club is steeped in history being established in 1898; it is therefore fitting that they have chosen a local young entrepreneur to be part of their expansion plans. Pailthorpe’s latest venture was established in May 2012 and has quickly grown in popularity servicing Sutton businesses as well as some of London’s top firms.
“I’m hugely proud to be supporting such a worthwhile local football club,” said Pailthorpe, “Iconic Digital is a local Sutton business committed to local projects and I’m delighted to be working with Sutton United to help grow and develop the club.”
Sutton United Football Club was formed on March 5th 1898 by the amalgamation of two leading junior sides, Sutton Association and Sutton Guild Rovers. Although the new club quickly made its reputation in local junior leagues, progress was unremarkable until 1910, when the decision was made to seek Senior status as members of the Southern Suburban League, and in the years before the First World War the Club played at a variety of local grounds, including one season at the Sutton Adult School Ground
