UK fashion retailer Ted Baker announced today a 33 per cent increase in revenue, aided by a strong performance from its online business and in international markets.
Retail sales rose 30.7 per cent over the same period of 27 January to 15 June 2013, while wholesale sales grew 41 per cent.
Ted Baker is a designer brand that operates through three main distribution channels: retail, wholesale and licensing. It offers a range of collections, including menswear, womenswear, global, phormal, endurance, accessories, lingerie and underwear, childrenswear; fragrance and skinwear, footwear, eyewear, and watches.
"We are delighted with this performance which is reflected across all the territories in which we operate," the company said in a statement.
In the UK, Ted Baker opened an accessories store in Gatwick North while its store at Stansted Airport closed for the redevelopment of the Terminal.
As part of the ongoing management of its UK store portfolio, it closed its store on the Kings Road London as the lease expired at the end of the period.
Internationally, it opened its first concession in France during the period as well as further concessions in Spain and the Netherlands. It also continued to expand into Asia, opening a store and an outlet in Shanghai, and a concession through a department store in Tokyo.
Further expansion is planned in Adelaide, Beirut, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The group's online offering is also said to be going great guns, though specific figures for e-commerce were not provided.
Founder and Chief Executive Ray Kelvin said: "We are continuing to invest in developing the Ted Baker brand internationally and have been encouraged by the reaction to the brand and the collections in our new markets."
