Tele2 has selected an Excito OTT solution to create Tele2 TV Player.
Tele2 has unified various entertainment services into one new product – Tele2 TV Player. It offers various TV channel packages, a video on demand service from Headweb, its own movie service - Tele2 Film, sports and more content from C-More, along with access to YouTube and SVT Play.
With Tele2 TV Player users can watch as much Movies, Sports and TV as they want - when and where they want – all easily accessed via a smartphone application. The app also acts as a payment authorisation for any movies or TV packages as they are simply added to the user’s mobile bill.
Once Tele2 customers have downloaded the Tele2 Player app, they can select the content and playback directly on their smartphone, tablet or stream to any HDMI enabled TV via the TV Player box. Content playback includes all online content from YouTube and SVT Play as well as personal content stored on the smartphones, such as pictures and movies.
Commenting on the partnership, Patrik Nilsson, CEO of Excito said; ‘’we have worked alongside Tele2 to deliver a fully integrated, simple to use solution. Our joint ambition has been to bring an innovative service that delivers entertainment where people want it. We are looking forward to developing the solution further with user centric features like content search, recommendations and personal program guides’’
Having completed a successful pilot, Tele2 will launch the new TV Player onto the Swedish market.
