The LUMIX G VARIO 14-140mm: Panasonic’s new Versatile Lens for Shooting Everything from Landscapes to Sports Photos

24th April 2013– Panasonic has launched the LUMIX G VARIO 14-140mm/F3.5-5.6 ASPH./POWER O.I.S lens, an interchangeable lens suitable for shooting everything from vast, open landscapes to action packed sports photos.

The new lens includes 10x optical zoom, comes in a stylish compact, metal body and is designed specifically for Digital Single Lens Mirrorless LUMIX G cameras and the Micro Four Thirds System standard.  It is also compatible with the sensor drive at max.240 fps to take maximum advantage of cameras with high-speed AF such as the LUMIX DMC-GH3 and the new LUMIX DMC-G6. 

The LUMIX G VARIO 14-140mm (35mm equivalent focal length: 28-280mm) is also optimized for HD video recording and is perfect for capturing crisp, blur-free images when shooting sporting events and other distant subjects.

The lens incorporates Panasonic’s POWER O.I.S. optical image stabiliser, which includes a lens shift system enabling stable framing even in a telephoto position.  This effectively compensates for not only small, fast movement but also large, slow one making it easy to shoot super clear shots even in low-lit situations such as in night time or indoors.

The LUMIX G VARIO 14-140mm is the latest addition to Panasonic’s LUMIX G microsystem, which includes the world’s largest range of Micro Four Thirds lenses and accessories, making sure you have the right set-up to capture every moment. The lens range includes the premium lens brand, ‘X’ for LUMIX G – ultra-compact electronic power zoom lenses which utilise the best in advanced optical performance.
