Titania CEO Ian Whiting to Speak at the Two Day Event Showcasing Local Innovation
Key IQ Ltd is organising the Malvern Festival of Innovation to be held on the 8th and 9th of November 2012. Key IQ specialises in the commercialisation of emerging technologies and helps to promote technology events all around the country. Ian Whiting, Titania CEO, has been invited to deliver a seminar discussing how the company was established and the innovative steps that have been taken in order to make it a success.
Before Titania, Ian Whiting was a manual Penetration Tester for a number of security auditing organisations. Ian developed a tool designed to aid him when completing manual audits for clients. This tool became Nipper Studio, the flagship product of Titania, now used in over 40 countries by global organisations. Ian’s presentation, Cresting the Cyber Wave, will discuss how Titania evolved its basic auditing tool into Nipper Studio, the advanced commercial software that is now provided to global organisations all over the world. Ian will also talk about how Titania has quickly grown from a start-up company into a thriving small business with 12 fulltime staff, and the innovative steps taken to achieve this.
Ian will be joined by other invited speakers as well as keynote speaker, cyber security business expert, Colonel John Doody. John has previously served at CESG/GCHQ as Head of Information Assurance Customer Services and has also been Non Executive Director and provided strategic advice to a number of IT security companies.
However the event is not purely focused on innovation in the cyber security sector. Amongst others, speakers include successful entrepreneur and TV and film composer Paul Farrer and Luke Johnson, the Chairman of Risk Capital Partners LLP and Startup Britain and the past Chairman of Channel Four Television Corporation. Jennifer Sheridan, CEO and Founder of TOGEVA Ltd, takes another Keynote spot delivering a seminar in the area of digital media. She has over 20 years experience in functional prototyping and design for global clients.
The diversity of the participants continues into the exhibition area where Titania and a host of other businesses from the cyber security, technology, digital media and business support sectors will be represented. Between the exhibition, technology themed seminars and business-focused workshops, this free event offers something for everyone! There is also an evening reception and dinner to be held which will offer a great opportunity for attendees and participants to eat, drink and network.
Ian Whiting said, ‘The Malvern Festival of Innovation looks to be a brilliantly inspiring event and I am proud to have been invited to take part. In hard economic times it is important to inspire budding entrepreneurs to be ambitious, motivated and positive. This event will demonstrate that despite the recession, technology is a fast growing and constantly evolving industry which can create new jobs and business. Worcestershire is rapidly becoming a hub for activity in this area and events like this help to show the great opportunities the county has to offer.’
The Malvern Festival of Innovation will be held on the 8th and 9th of November at the Malvern Theatres and Malvern College in Worcestershire. To register for free, purchase tickets for the evening dinner or to learn more about the programme go to the Festival of Innovation website
