A Michael Jackson inspired nightclub, Thriller, is launching at the Ruby Lounge on Friday 16 December 2016.
Thriller will play a variety of music genres ranging from soul hits such as The Jackson 5’s ABC to Michael Jackson’s heavier hits like Dirty Diana. The night will also include artists related to the King of Pop such as Janet and Jermaine Jackson, soul and disco artists from the era of his success, and modern artists that drew inspiration from his hits such as Neyo and Justin Timberlake.
The back room, Neverland, will be open all night showcasing some of Michael Jackson’s most famous music videos, such as Thriller and Bad, and the cult classic Moonwalker.
Throughout the night clubbers can take advantage of free popcorn and recreate The King of Pop’s iconic look with a free white glove.
There will also be a chance to win an £100 bar tab by channelling Michael Jackson’s trademark moves in a club wide dance off.
Liam Connolly, founder of Thriller, said: “Michael Jackson is one of my personal favourite artists so I really look forward to launching Manchester’s first club night dedicated to his work. His career spanned an amazing 45 years, inspired several genres and still influences many of the artists in the charts today so the night will play a bit of something to suit everyone’s taste!”
