To follow on from a handset that was as great as the Galaxy S, Samsung really had to come up with something special. And it seems that with the new S2 models, they have done so, and quite emphatically too with a superb dual core processor and a screen that stands out amongst its competitors.
The screen on this model takes the Super AMOLED technology used in the Galaxy S to a new level, and the result is Super AMOLED+. Although the previous system was hard to improve upon, this new screen offer a higher contrast ratio and is also less demanding on the battery, ultimately resulting in longer talktime and standby time. Resolution wise it still offer 480 x 800, which is not a bad thing as it rivals manys of its competitors models. The screen is bigger now at 4.3", and not only is this visually stunning, the ultra slim thickness of the phone makes it appear even more impressive. Behind the screen the usual technology is present. The capacitive touch panel offers great reponsiveness whilst the support of multi touch ensure the always excellent pinch and zoom method can be used. Running on the Android operating system, the more technical amongst you will be pleased to note that the S2 comes with Gingerbread 2.3 straight out of the box. This is over layed with Samsungs own Touchwiz user interface which adds some functionality in terms of operation. Similar application and games are grouped together to make them easier to find and you can also add your own contacts directly to the homescreen.
As a multi media device, the Samsung Galaxy S2 boasts some features that make it one of the very best handsets available in this area. If you looking for a phone with great video capture, then this model is the one for you thanks to its 1080P recording resolution. Otherwise known as full HD, this is a higher resolution than the 720P HD variety sported on many other handsets. Photos also give pleasing results thanks to an 8 mega pixel sensor coupled with a flash facility and autofocus. With 16GB of internal storage capacity, the S2 certainly offers ample space, yet there is still the presence of a micro SD card slot should you feel that you need to add a little more. Your media files can also be streamed to compatible devices thanks to the unit supporting DNLA. There was a lot about the original Galaxy S that made it popular, and this new model offer even more on top of that. Style, Features and specification are all top drawer, and this phone should prove to be a real hit with consumers everywhere.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Nokia E7 Silver are coming soon.
