The newest name in high street coffee!

Press Release   •   Jul 30, 2012 08:49 BST

Cinderbox Coffee has opened its first outlet in Chester at the site of the old P&A Davies bakery, on Bridge Street.

Cinderbox Coffee is all about continental style and passion, with muted colours, soft seating, a book swap, artwork by painter Caroline Shotton and offering a luxurious aspect, you will be wowed by the style and passion that has gone into the creation of this new venture.

Serving a rich and full flavoured Italian espresso as the base for its coffee based products (unlike those cheaper South American blends), Cinderbox serves a range of hot and cold food including sandwiches, panini’s, wraps, salad boxes, cakes and slices as well as the world’s most famous ice cream, Haagen Dazs. Beverages include a full range of coffee products, teas, milkshakes and frappes.

Cinderbox Coffee gets its name from the original method for making coffee outdoors. Wanderers would place a coffee roaster on top of an iron rivoted fire box (a cinderbox) which would be used to collect the cinders from the fire.

Cinderbox Coffee takes its inspiration from the continental coffee bars which can be frequented in Milan and Barcelona, oozing style and panache this is definitely a place to be seen and be seen at!

The building is particularly beautiful, built in the C.18 with a carved statue of King Charles and named the Art Gallery, the building was once occupied by Sherratt & Co, who also built the third storey in 1889. The building owner and landlord is still the Duke of Westminister, whose Estate has produced a superb refurbishment of the retail unit, which was has been closed for nearly two years, since P&A Davies ceased trading.

Give Cinderbox Coffee a visit, if not for the coffee or other products, just for the experience. You can sit and read, surf the internet or idly chat with friends in comfort and style.

Open Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm and Sunday  10am to 5pm.
