Thule, world leader within Sports and Utility Transportation, is delighted to announce the creation of its Thule Adventure Team, a team of dedicated athletes who will represent Thule in multi-sport competitions worldwide in 2010, starting with the “Coast to Coast” event 13 February in New Zealand. Other competitions will take place in China, Sweden, Switzerland, the United States and the United Arab Emirates. Additionally, a Thule Adventure Race will be organised in August in Sweden. The company is determined to see its brand new team attain the objective of becoming the best multi-sport team in the world as well as market its different product ranges to sports outlets.
Thule has chosen the multi-sport as it stands for endurance, honesty and hard working. It is a fairly new sport where athletes race in a continuous series of stages and rapidly switch from one discipline to another in order to achieve the best overall time. Most multi-sport events consist of activities such as cycling, running and kayaking.
Commenting on the creation of the Thule Adventure Team, Peter Kjellberg, Vice President Marketing Thule, states: “Thule stands for quality transportation equipment and an engagement to sports. Our goal is to bring together the two world leaders: Thule, the number 1 within Sport and Utility Transportation, and the best multi-sport team in the world! Moreover, there is a clear link between Thule’s extensive product offering and the transportation needs of athletes and outdoor enthusiasts worldwide.”
