Top Specification On the Excellent Motorola Atrix

Press Release   •   Feb 13, 2011 11:33 GMT

The new Motorola Atrix handset treads new ground for mobile phones by not only offering a dual core processor, but also a range of docking stations that effectively convert this handset to a range of other devices such as a media player and a laptop.

Despite it appearance not being dissimilar to the majority of smartphones currently available, the new Atrix is a different breed thanks to the add ons that can be used in conjunction with this model. At present three docks are available for use with the phone. The most basic of these is excellent as a bedside or desktop dock to act as a basic charger or alarm clock. Nothing to special so far, but the other two really do offer something different. The Multimedia dock really extends the connectivity options on the phone, giving you three USB sockets and an HDMI port. This enables connection to a high definition television for viewing of your media files, as well as supporting devices such as a keyboard and a mouse. A laptop dock uses the phone as an engine to run the built in screen and keyboard, giving you a fully functioning laptop. The impressive aspect of all this is that the Atrix when, used with one of these options switches to a Linux based operating system. You have full Firefox web browsing as well as access to the mobile phone functions via Android.

Forgetting the optional extras for a moment, as a mobile phone the Motorola Atrix is one of the very best available. Web browsing is a smooth experience thanks to the phone sporting WiFi facilities or alternatively 3G whilst you are on the move, which offers the fastest possible data transfer outside of Wireless LAN. A 4 inch display offers an image quality bursting with clarity and colour thanks to the exceptional 960 x 540 resolution which is a cut above what you can expect on most high end phones such as the Nokia N8. It even gives the iPhone 4 and its "Retina" display a run for its money. Another area where the Atrix performs well is in the speed department, where the phones 1Ghz processor offers a lightning quick performance, as well as dual core capabilities that enhance the excellent multi tasking features.

The Motorola Atrix sets the bar for all mobile phones to follow. Not satisfied with just looking great, the phone sports great features and above all excellent performance.

The Motorola Atrix and the Google Nexus S White are coming soon.
