Tower Hamlets, London Borough of (London): Young people get positive in half term

Press Release   •   Oct 22, 2010 14:25 BST

With half term (25 – 31 October) nearly here, young people have no excuse for being bored, thanks to the Positive Activities for Young People (PAYP) programme.

28 organisations will be running PAYP activities during half-term, especially tailored for 8-19 year olds (with priority given to those aged 13 and over).

Web design, cookery, football, body massage and TV production are just some of the things on offer and many of the activities lead to accreditations which can look great on UCAS forms and job applications.

To find out what’s happening across the borough, young people should call Olutoyin on 020 7364 0797 or email olutoyin.omole@towerhamlets.gov.uk

PAYP activities are also uploaded to the council’s online Family Services Directory which can be found at www.towerhamlets.gov.uk.

PAYP is a scheme funded by the former government and overseen by the council’s Youth and Connexions Service. It provides fun and constructive activities for young people every school holiday, providing them with valuable skills for later life.
