US polystyrene market expected to increase

Polystyrene is a strong plastic created from erethylene and benzine that can be injected, extruded, or blow molded, making it a very useful and versatile manufacturing material.

Demand within the US polystyrene market decreased from 2.944 Million Metric Tonne Per Annum (MMTPA) in 2000 to 2.118 MMTPA in 2011, at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3%, for the period.

Analysts are predicting that demand within the US polystyrene market is expected to increase from 2.118 MMTPA in 2011 to 2.318 MMTPA in 2016, at a CAGR of 1.8%.

The US production of polystyrene decreased from 3.020 MMTPA in 2000 to 2.314 MMTPA in 2011, at a CAGR of 2.4%, for the period.

Analysts are predicting that production within the US polystyrene market is expected to increase from 2.314 MMTPA in 2011 to 2.536 MMTPA in 2016, at a CAGR of 1.8%.
