London’s official convention bureau has launched a new look and feel to its specialist event organiser’s website (http://www.visitlondon.com/business), which they hope will entice and enthrall event planners across the globe. The website which gets over 23,000 unique users a month has been updated to include the latest breaking news and information on London’s business venues, activities and hotels.
The website now includes a breaking news section which is directly fed via Visit London’s Twitter account @VLBusiness. The site also showcases the new ‘See the world. Visit London.’ globe branding which was launched by Visit London in September of last year.
The new site offers both national and international event planners an interactive and impartial portal where they can download useful tools, research a vast amount of venues or simply catch up with the latest news happening in the UK capital.
The website still includes popular areas such venue search tool, an events calendar, business case studies and a downloadable planner’s tool kit – which means event planners are able to download images, presentations and videos to use for free.
The news area of the Visit London website is written by ex-Event magazine editor and industry expert, Mike Fletcher. Fletcher sources the latest news and features for Visit London and adds an impartial eye on the latest industry happenings in the capital.
The website’s new look is further evidence of the on-going effort that Visit London is putting into its overall business tourism offer, which is being headed up by Director of Business Tourismm Tracy Halliwell.
“We felt the business section of the website needed to have a new fresh and updated look and needed to include breaking news and as much information as possible. London has so much to offer and because of its constant new products and diversity, we wanted to have a website that was clear and simple; a one-stop-shop which could be accessible and easy to use for event planners.”
Severine Ougier, Business Marketing Manager, and the main person behind the new look website added: “We’re very pleased with our re-designed website and the positive feedback we’ve received from planners and suppliers alike. With its new intuitive menu functionality, revamped sections and suggestions for group activities, the site is 100% in line with our brand positioning that London has an incredible breadth of choice when it comes to planning events. No other city offers so much diversity, making it incredibly appealing to event organisers.”
The new site has been given its sleek and more eye-catching design by Visit London’s in-house web design team. The site also includes a link to Visit London’s specialist London Heathrow Gateway site which gives details on the latest venues, hotels, events locations and post-conference activities just outside the capital. http://www.londonheathrowgateway.com
