Volvo race tracks yachts 'live' for Auckland finish

Press release   •   Mar 09, 2012 09:58 GMT

Volvo Ocean Race fans can follow the yachts 'live' into Auckland, New Zealand, on the race tracker, thanks to the introduction of 60-second updates.

The tracker information is normally relayed from the yachts by Inmarsat's FleetBroadband 150 service every three hours.

Leg climax
But as leg four comes to a climax, with the teams fighting for every boat length on the approach to Auckland, the tracker will refresh once a minute.

The first boat's estimated arrival into Auckland is 09:00 UTC on Saturday, 10 March, so fans will be able to watch two days of action unfold on their computer screens.

  • Will Groupama hold off Telefónica's advances?
  • Can Puma regain second place?
  • Will Camper make it on to the podium?
  • Can Abu Dhabi and Team Sanya get back in the mix with one last roll of the dice?

Launch the race tracker using the first link below and click on the "live" button in the top left for 60-second updates.
