Press Release   •   Oct 11, 2010 08:14 BST

Sofa.com has launched a brand new competition which will see the winner driven home in the official Guinness World Record’s fastest motorised sofa.

Titled as the ‘fastest piece of furniture’ in the Guinness World Records 2010, the motorised sofa can be one lucky winners comfy commute home from work saving them the stress and hassle of the tube, trains and bus services in and around London.

To enter the competition entrees must simply leave a comment on the Sofa.com Facebook page telling the team why they – or one of their work colleagues – deserve the comfiest commute home.

It can be anything. From making the best office cakes to being the techie guy that knows how to fix everything, simply send in the best nomination and in the next couple of weeks the winner will be picked up and driven home on the world record sofa.

The more noise the judges hear about the individual entrees the better. Entrees are encouraged to get their colleagues to join in on the competition leaving comments about the nomination and there side of the story. The more hype around the entry the better chance they have of winning.

The competition ends on Wednesday 13th October at 5.30pm. The winner will be announced on Thursday 14th October 2010.

You can see the Guinness World Record’s fastest piece of furniture in action by watching the world sofa race YouTube video.

Ts & Cs:

The prize winner/person who will be commuting must live and work in London.

The commute home will begin from the office of the winner no later than 4.30pm (otherwise it will be too dark!) on a date to be arranged with the winner, but no later than October 22nd 2010.

If it’s raining, we’re really sorry and you could get wet!

If for any reason our sofa car cannot make the journey due to technical, problems, weather etc, we are sorry but we are unable to offer an alternative form of travel.

The judges’ decision is final. There is no cash alternative to the prize.
