Press Release   •   Jan 06, 2016 17:29 GMT

In-flight yoga has today been revealed as the perfect way to ensure a happy and relaxed holiday.

This is according to travel website Expedia.co.uk, who worked with chartered physiotherapist and certified yoga teacher Dr. Christopher Norris and Iyengar Yoga Deutschland to identify some key postures that will help people relieve any pre-holiday tension and unwind their minds – 30,000 feet up.

Published in line with a peak in long haul flight demand, the Yoga in the Sky guide is the perfect travel companion for Brits set to fly outside of Europe this November in the search for some winter sun. From September, Expedia sees a steady shift in demand towards long haul travel, from just over a quarter to significantly over one third of total demand in December and January from the UK.

“The benefits of practising in-flight yoga are extensive,” confirms Dr. Norris, “not only will it allow your body and mind the opportunity to relax, it can improve balance, correct posture and even release positive endorphins to make flying as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.”

Andy Washington, managing director for Brand Expedia in the UK, added: “We know that our customers are constantly seeking new and exciting experiences to help enhance their holiday plans. We also know they’re passionate about keeping fit. Now, with the help of our Yoga in the Sky guide, they have the opportunity to combine the two and feel fabulous – before their feet have even touched the ground.”

Information on a selection of key poses and their benefits can be found below. For more information, or to download a copy of the Yoga in the Sky guide, visit: http://expediablog.co.uk/category/travel-yourself-fit/.
