A stolen Minibus was located thanks to the ABAX Triplog

A Minibus was recently stolen from the company Kringdata AB in Dalarna, Sweden.

Two employees discovered the theft of the vehicle and began to use the installed fleet management system, ABAX Triplog, to find its whereabouts.

“I immediately saw that the vehicle was in a small village 8 miles north of us. I called an acquaintance in the small village who went out and discovered the minibus. But the thieves changed direction and were heading back to towards us”, says Anders Grubb who discovered the theft.

Due to the fact that the stolen minibus had an ABAX Triplog installed, Anders was able to follow the stolen vehicle's position using the ABAX Triplog app. Anders Grubb and his colleague Sven-Olof Larsson contacted the police, who were in fact several hours away. The colleagues then decided to act on the situation themselves.

The colleagues followed the vehicle and confronted the chauffeur driving the Minibus. Anders pulled out the chauffeur and tape tied his arms. At the same time the other colleague took the keys and managed to lock the Minibus, trapping two people inside.

Two policemen arrived after an hour and arrested the three people who are now suspicious of theft.

“Without ABAX installed in the vehicle, we probably would have never recovered our Minibus”, concluded Anders.
