Press release -

beActive’s emotional Arab-Spring Documentary gets Digital Interactive Experience - Documentary filmmaking turned into an APP

Dublin, June 5th 2014: beActive, the Dublin-based award-winning TV, Film and Digital studio, today releases “Road to Revolution Interactive”, a second screen app, that extends the documentary with same name, and was recently presented at the Cannes Film Festival. In an emotional portrait of people affected by the revolutionary movement, the feature-length film focuses on the story of the people who lived at the Arab Spring, like the mother who lost her son in the Libyan civil war or the Egyptian who still resists in Tahrir Square.

Besides a theatrically released film, the Road to Revolution full experience includes two TV documentaries, forty Webisodes and one App for Tablets and Connected TV devices that extends the documentary experience. The interactive application provides additional content, including unused material and additional life-stories, creating an integrated dual-screen experience. It also gives an overview of the socio-economic, geographical and political development of each country and ethnicity within them. The full transmedia project is available to be licensed to international distributors and VoD platforms as a full package or as separate individual content elements.

The feature-length documentary is already available worldwide at the new VIMEO VoD service: https://vimeo.com/ondemand/roadtorevolution.

The second screen for tablets can be downloaded at the Samsung App Store:
