Aura Communities pull out the City of Västerås over the city’s “continued procurement irregularities”
Aura Communities, an international property development company have today (23rd January 2017) confirmed that they have immediately pulled out of all ongoing contracts and negotiations with the City of Västerås in Sweden over continued public procurement irregularities within the city.
The decision follows on from a recent public procurement by the City of Västerås for land purchase within the city, where the City actively denied the public purse 1.46 million SEK (over €153,000) in the award of the land sale which broke the common EU rules regarding illegal state aid and furthermore failing to operate in a transparent way which was against the interests of the local taxpayers.
“We no longer have confidence that the City of Västerås will make any sales of properties in a fair and impartial manner”, says Paul Jones, project manager at Aura Communities head office in London.
Legal action against Västerås Stad by the private sector over the procurement irregularities continues.
