Sep 13, 2011 12:46 BST

Berwyn Bakery, the second largest employer in Bala, North Wales, has today been sold out of Administration to the management team for an undisclosed sum, safeguarding the jobs of all of its 70 employees.

Berwyn Bakery, a well-known producer of cakes and muffins, was established over a century ago and over the years has progressed from servicing the local community to a respected provider of quality products to a national customer base, including the majority of the UK supermarkets.

Lindsey Cooper and Russell Cash of Baker Tilly Restructuring and Recovery were appointed joint administrators to the Company on 8 September 2011. Commenting on the appointment, Lindsey Cooper said:

“We are pleased to have concluded the sale thereby guaranteeing the future of this long standing business and preserving all 70 jobs. The outcome should be excellent news to the local community. The company has an excellent reputation and we are delighted that the transaction provides the opportunity for it to continue to trade and build upon that reputation for years to come.”
