News Alert: ESL UK’s Battle of the Brands raises over £10,000 in charity donations

Charity derby has exceeded SpecialEffect donation target a week before competition on 10 December

(London, UK) 28 November, 2017 – ESL UK today announced that Battle of the Brands, a new Christmas charity derby, has reached over £11,000 in charitable donations. All money raised will go to UK gaming charity SpecialEffect, following the competition itself on 10 December.

The money has been donated by event partners Ebuyer, SCAN, Overclockers UK and PC Specialist, as well as other tech vendors including OMEN by HP, Intel and ADATA and donations from fans.

“We’re truly humbled by the response from our partners and the wider gaming community,” said James Dean, managing director at ESL UK. “To exceed our donation target a week before the derby even begins is a great achievement. But I’m optimistic we can raise even more to support the incredible work of SpecialEffect!”

Fans looking to support SpecialEffect can donate through the Battle of the Brands JustGiving page. Battle of the Brands will be streamed live from 12:00 GMT on 10 December. Watch the competition live on twitch.tv/esluk.
