BIM Render 3D rendering solutions for manufacturers is releasedDec 15, 2011 08:30 GMT
BIMobject AB together with Abvent SA today launched the 3D rendering solution BIM Render based on the powerful 3D Raytracing and radiosity software Artlantis studio. The collaboration between BIMobject and Abvent from France have now entered into a new phase with the official release of BIM Render.
BIM Render is powered by Artlantis and is sold successfully worldwide to architects and designers. BIMobject has created a solution with BIM Render and built 3D scenes for different settings to make it more suitable for manufacturers to create product photos and inspiration images.
BIM Render is compatible with ArchiCAD®, Revit® and Sketchup®. This means that you can start your 3D image creation from a BIM model describing an office, building, interior or any other design the architect has done. Pre defined 3D scenes are part of the package and are available for download on BIMobject.com’s portal, only for registered users of BIM Render.
Whether you choose a scene (pre defined or from a BIM/CAD system) you can then add your own products to scenes by downloading them from the web based product portal www.bimobject.com. All products on the portal are compatible with BIM Render and Artlantis.
Drag and drop capabilities allow you to add your real products as BIM objects into scenes, place lights, set the camera and go! In minutes you have stunning high quality photo realistic images that can be used for price lists, products sheets, brochures and marketing communication.
The technical aspects of the 3D rendering engine are based on raytracing / radiosity and different areal effects like atmosphere, turbulence, diffraction, halo, clouds etc. You can simulate the effects of the sun and weather. You can even place the project in the right place on the planet and then set the preferred date and time. BIM Render has the most powerful version of Artlantis Studio inside, you can also create time lapsed animations to see movements of the sun/shadow and even simulate different seasons.
For manufacturers who work on creating their own BIM object content, BIM Render uses the Artlantis Studio’s animation feature to create 3D rendered previews and objects sequences on www.bimobject.com portal. With BIM Render you can decide how the pre rendered product should be visualised on the object page online, for example 360 degree rotation or step by step visualisation that can be used to describe object functionality.
BIM Render is compatible with all Artlantis Medias as an extra option. Artlantis media includes vegetation, people, decorations, cars etc to help you enrich your scenes and make them more visually attractive.
The main benefit of BIM Render is the easy to use drag and drop interface with the immediate real time visual feedback. BIM Renders ease of use means that you can create rich scenes very quickly with unmatched visual feedback. The time spent creating the final image comes down to the rendering speed of your computer. The beauty though is that there are no unexpected surprises, what you see is what you get. The preview is your working environment and you can easily adjust time, sun, material, textures or move objects directly in the 3D navigator.
The quality of the final image is essential, as in photography, colour is essential in rendering as well. The radiosity engine improves images for a better perception of colours, textures and materials. Tone correction is now possible which is a post-process that allows users to lighten dark images and vice versa. The rendering engine is now optimised for 64 bit on both Macintosh and Windows and is faster than ever, letting you focus on the creation of the images, not the waiting time for rendering.
Adding BIM objects to your scene has never been so fun and easy. The gravitation function helps you to place objects on top of other objects or planes or even hanging them from ceilings or on a wall. All in real time and all in 3D.
With BIM Render scenes you can quickly build up your virtual showroom that can be shown as a high resolution image, animation or even better an iVisit 3D app for the iPad or the iPhone.
