The BIMobject corporation with its headquarters at World Trade Center in Malmö, today launches its cloudbased portal for BIM objects. The portal is completely web based and is built around the latest technology to best be able to supply the construction industry with digital versions of building and interior products. All downloadable BIM objects from the portal are free of charge  free for architects, consultants and construction companies. Users will have access to products with all information integrated in their BIM system, manufacturers get their products visible and integrated into the design and construction process.

The portal’s features range from early work with project management and information collection to maintenance, creation and publication of BIM objects on the Web.

The objective of the portal is to create a natural place on the internet where all products for the construction industry are collected as BIM objects. Here, architects, designers, interior designers, engineers and construction companies, search, filter, and download BIM objects into their own CAD / BIM systems such as Revit, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD or Allplan.

The portal is a database and all administration can be easily managed through our web interface by project managers from manufacturers and partners of BIMobject. All product information placed in the portal is searchable by Google's search engine. In addition the product information can be found as parameters in the respective downloadable BIM objects. This means that BIM objects will be enriched with data available throughout the entire project, and also later be used for production & management.

Designer do not have to interrupt their design process in order to look for product information, all product information is integrated in the BIM objects. BIM objects also contain materials, configurations, types, classifications, custom 2D symbol, optimized 3D geometry as well as any other product information that is necessary. Even url's (web links) to the manufacturer's website and PDF files for installation and maintenance documentation are "carried" by BIM objects.

All product data is created on the portal and integrates automatically with add-ons, respectively add-in, to ArchiCAD and Revit. This is to ensure that the correct product data is available in BIM objects. In the future this will be used for easy product information updates, keeping track of versions and offer opportunities for language management.
